Expertise and Worldwide Leadership

Expertise in temperature monitoring techniques and extensive knowledge of cold chain challenges established Temptime as the world leader in time-temperature indicators. The need for an easy method to identify when biologic and pharmaceutical products have been exposed to potentially damaging temperature ranges led us to develop three applications:
- Two for monitoring heat events:
- Cumulative heat exposures (based on MKT): HEATmarker product line; and
- Threshold heat excursions: TH-F product line (with a short time delay) and DEGmarker product line (instantaneous).
- One for monitoring freeze events:
- FREEZEmarker product line.
We use our technologies to produce miniaturized, cost-effective, reliable, and scientifically proven time-temperature indicators for monitoring biologic products, pharmaceutical products and medical devices.
Product Benefits
All of our indicators are easy to read and understand, environmentally friendly (with no battery or other hazardous materials), extremely reliable, and cost effective.
Two Uses
Temptime indicators can be used in two ways by medical product manufacturers and distributors:
- At the Individual Unit Level– Affixed to each unit of the medical product to monitor the individual unit until the time of use.
- At the Multiple Unit Secondary Packaging or Shipping Box Level – Inserted into or affixed to the secondary package or shipping box of medical products to monitor the box until opened.
Working Globally to Improve Public Health
Temptime supplies HEATmarker time-temperature indicators (that monitor mean kinetic temperature) to major biologic and pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide. Each year, more than 400 million HEATmarker devices are affixed to individual units of vaccine for use in campaigns by the World Health Organization and UNICEF, and the governments of India, Indonesia and Pakistan. The HEATmarker indicators monitor the vaccine’s temperature from manufacturing until use. Temptime has developed four HEATmarker VVM (vaccine vial monitor) categories for use in those vaccination campaigns. A series of other HEATmarker categories is available for use on other medical products in the private sector. HEATmarker technologies are also used by the US government to monitor anti-chemical agents and the field-deployable “Meals Ready to Eat.”
